Zapała does not recognize any boundaries between music acquired through academic education, experience of the counterculture and collaboration with artists from other fields. His music was presented at contemporary music festivals, jazz clubs, experimental music venues and open, public spaces.

Head of Kołorking Muzyczny. Founder and head of an_ARCHE NewMusicFoundation and many ensembles (contemporary, improvised, electronic music).

His concept of Live Electronic Preparation (LEP Technique) is published at Oxford Handbook of Interactive Audio (Oxford University Press, 2014).

Author of Sensorium – huge, immersive sound installation based on biofeedback data sonification.

Sound Designer of The Polish national exhibition Post-Apocalypsis(awarded the Gold Medal of the 13th Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space festival – Sound Design cathegory).
